The clinical trials of the potential corona vaccine from AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford started again in the United Kingdom on Sunday, the pharmaceutical company said on the website. Last Sunday, a pause was taken after potentially serious side effects occurred in a British subject.
The company, which is developing one of the most promising vaccines with the University of Oxford, is restarting trials after approval from the independent medical research authority MHRA. After investigation, he decided that the British trials can continue safely.
The subject may have developed an acute inflammation of the spinal cord. At the time, it was not yet clear whether the complaints were a direct result of the potential vaccine.
