Clinic says it is only the tenant of the building returned to the Angolan State

The company that owns the Luanda Medical Center clinic today clarified that it was only the tenant of the building that was returned to the Angolan state, and is therefore not targeted in the property investigation process announced by the Angolan judicial authorities.

On Friday, the Angolan Attorney General’s Office (PGR) announced that several real estate assets were handed over to the National Asset Recovery Service (SENRA), including the building where the Luanda Medical Center clinic is located, in Ingombota district, in Luanda, a hotel and an educational establishment.

“In view of the news published by PGR, the administration of CSIS – Centro de Serviços Internacionais de Saúde, Lda., The company that owns and operates the LMC clinic – Luanda Medical Center, clarifies that the only link between this health unit and the company Luanda Medical Center SA, owner of the aforementioned building now handed over to SENRA, comes down to its position as tenant of the space, with no responsibility for CSIS Lda. In the patrimonial investigation process that PGR announced ”, indicates a statement signed by the administration of CSIS.

The company providing private health services is a subsidiary of the Israeli group Mitrelli, with interests in various sectors in Angola, including education, health, energy, water, agriculture and fisheries, construction, etc.

CSIS also said it had invested “in refurbishing the building and in high-end equipment” to guarantee the activity of this private health services unit.

In addition to the Luanda clinic, the LMC has another one in Talatona, with both units “operating normally”, the statement added.

According to PGR, the Monalisa Residence hotels in Talatona, the Torres Eucaliptos real estate project, the Instituto Sapiens building and the Luanda Medical Center (LMC) building, located at Rua Amílcar Cabral, in the district of Ingombota, were all delivered in Luanda.
