Given the housing growth in Ramos Arizpe, the Mexican Social Security Institute is evaluating various projects to expand coverage in the service, said Asunción Ortiz Sánchez, director of the Family Medicine Unit number 88.
The representative of the medical institution recognized that there is a challenge to meet the high demand caused, mainly, by the creation of more sources of employment in the town.
“The steps are being taken, through our delegational authorities, to achieve this increase in coverage. We are not leaving it on standby, but rather we seek to improve the quality of service and, above all, provide timely service ”.
By 2021, the Family Medicine Unit 88 provides care to 39 thousand beneficiaries.
“Our essential service is the family medicine consultation and the emergency service, and the demand for services varies greatly depending on the time of year,” said the doctor without wanting to specify more details of the projects at the door.
Ortiz Sánchez participated in the closing of the Health Week offered for the right holders within the framework of International Women’s Day.
According to information from the Family Medicine area, 60 women participated in workshops, physical activities, as well as taking samples for the detection of breast and cervical cancer.
“We had a very good response that reflects the decision of women to take better care of their health,” said Mirna del Toro, head of the department.
