□ Ambassador Na Kyung-won, who participates in the 27th Conference of the Parties (UNFCCC) as a special envoy to the President of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, attended the November 7 (Monday) the “Forest Climate Summit” was held to discuss the response to the climate. o The summit included Special Envoy Na Kyung-won, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Gabonese President Ali BONGO ONDIMBA, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and US President John F. Kerry special climate envoys were present .

□ Special Envoy Na Kyung-won participated as a speaker at the fourth session on “Accelerating Forest Resources” and announced that Korea will join the LEAF Alliance for Forest Protection in developing countries and announced that it will participate in the sharing of expertise and experiences through Official Development Assistance (ODA).

o The LEAF Alliance * is a voluntary international coalition formed to jointly raise $ 1 billion in forest resources between the government and the private sector to prevent deforestation and deforestation in tropical and subtropical forest countries.

o Michael Jongenil stressed the importance of private sector mixed finance, eliminating bureaucracy and complex processes and participating in UK government sponsored partnerships to accelerate climate finance in the forest sector.

o Carlos Holguin shared Ecuador’s efforts to protect forests, including implementing the REDD + * system and joining the Convention to promote non-deforestation production, and announced that he would promote cooperation with the LEAF Alliance.
