At the National Gallery in London, two climate activists threw tomato soup on painter Vincent Van Gogh’s iconic work “Sunflowers”. After that, the duo continued to work.
The climate activists were part of the “Just Stop Oil” collective and were arrested shortly after their action. They wondered if art is worth more than life, food or justice. That is why they are opposed to fossil fuels.
The piece itself would not be damaged because it has the glass hanging in front of it. There would be damage to the list.
Pictures of their action are circulating on Twitter. The value of the sunflowers it is estimated at around 84 million euros.
