Climate activists stick to Goya’s paintings in Madrid, including actions at Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands

The Royal Dutch Marechaussee is engaged in the evacuation of the airport. It is still unclear whether people chained to private jets can be taken away, but activists who are simply sitting under the planes are already being whisked away from the airport by buses. Dozens of people have already been arrested, according to the Marechaussee.

Today there are protests elsewhere in and around the airport as well. For example, activists gathered in the adjacent Amsterdamse Bos and there was also a demonstration at Schiphol Plaza, the airport’s shopping center.
