Four activists block the road in the ski area in Ischgl – police react cautiously
On the morning of January 4th, four climate activists blocked the Paznauntalstrasse B188 in Ischgl by sitting on the zebra crossing. Loud Police report from the LPD Tyrol There were three Austrians and one German between the ages of 18 and 23. The protest started around 9:20 a.m. Two activists each had one hand stuck to the street.
The four young people were sitting in the snow and in the freezing cold when the police arrived. This quickly ensured a quick local diversion. And: They brought thermal blankets with them for the climate adhesives. “We experienced the operation as extremely respectful and correct,” the “Last Generation Austria” then posted a video Twitter.
After almost an hour, the unannounced gathering, according to the police report, was officially broken up and the road was free for everyone again. Despite the police officers’ nice gesture, all four protesters couldn’t avoid filing a complaint.
Angry vacationers from Germany: Drivers try to drag climate activists off the road
Videos of other reactions are also circulating online. Not the police, but according to the license plate, German vacationers reacted with anger and violence. As can be seen on videos, a BMW drove into the activists. Both occupants of the vehicle got out and began dragging the four climate activists off the road. A driver had previously gotten out, confronted the four with accusations and insulted them. (mg)
