Climate activists block airport – and stick to the ground

At Munich Airport, activists from the “Last Generation” group blocked access to the cargo halls and taped themselves to the street. Disruptive actions are also to take place at two other airports.

Climate activists also blocked traffic on Wednesday. In Munich, at least five people sat down on an access road to the cargo halls at the airport and stuck to the asphalt.

A reporter from Bayerischer Rundfunk first reported on it. As the alliance “Last Generation” announced, there were also similar actions at the airports in Berlin and Frankfurt.

Accordingly, there are disruptions in air freight and also in passenger air traffic. How big the disruptions really are is still unclear. The blockades have been in place since 8 a.m. Photos show people standing on a street at Berlin-Brandenburg Airport. Activists also sat down on the airport ring at Frankfurt Airport.

On Tuesday, activists had been in Nuremberg for several hours caused traffic jams during rush hour, when they blocked an exit of the Frankenschnellweg. There had already been numerous campaigns, especially in Berlin and Hamburg.
