The Band reporter Mariana Becker found himself in the middle of a ‘climate’ this Saturday when interviewing the pilot Fernando Alonso, from Alpine, after qualifying for the Portuguese GP this Saturday. The answers crossed by the Spanish champion of Formula 1 reverberated on the Brazilian internet.

Mariana tried to talk to the Spaniard about the difficulties of the Portimão circuit after the driver was eliminated from Q2, having to start in Sunday’s race in 13th place, well behind teammate Esteban Ocon, who will start in 6th. Alonso, with a frown, answered only with a ‘yes’. Mariana insisted on the issue and Alonso was succinct again. Mariana then said: ‘Okay, if you don’t want to talk, that’s fine’. The reporter had the support of her colleagues at Band Sergio Mauricio, Reginaldo Leme e Felipe Giaffone.

On Twitter, Brazilian Internet users came out in defense of the Band reporter.

– F. Alonso extremely and grossly free with Mariana Becker. Here in the northeast it has a name: a baptized horse – said an internet user.

– Mariana Becker deserves respect! Do your job with excellence! and your job is to talk and ask! Said another.
