Although Cliff Bleszinski has done a lot in terms of computer games – something he hasn’t worked on for six years, however – he is still primarily best known as the creator of the Gears of War series.
And Bleszinski himself is obviously aware of this – but doesn’t seem to be entirely happy about it. In a post on X, he writes that “Gears will always be a HUGE part of my legacy”but adds:
“While I greatly appreciate your support and those who know me from my Gears work (I did a lot more than that game series, for the record), it’s time to move on.
I am on a new journey. I have been for a while now.”
Despite this, he still believes that Microsoft and The Coalition should contact him about the next adventure in the Gears series, claiming that this would be a golden PR move:
“If they were smart, they would have asked me for input, because just from a PR point of view it would have been worth its weight in gold.”
Would the next Gears game do better if Cliff Bleszinski was somehow involved?
