Fellbach retailers report that their pick-up offers (“Click & Collect” or “Call & Collect”) are rather slow. Many customers may not yet know about the changes, some business owners believe, according to a press release from the city administration.
Sonja Zielke from Sailer’s Gift Ideas reports in the press release that everyone is trying to make a few euros somewhere. Now it is at least allowed again for customers to pick up their desired goods on site. “But I think a lot of people don’t even know that this is possible again,” she suspects. The pick-up service is hardly used at the moment, not only in their specialist shop. “Other shop owners also have the same problem.”
Like all other Fellbach retailers, Zielke can be reached by their customers – by phone or email. Stefan Lutz from the fashion store of the same name even offers advice via video chat in his specialist shop. Otherwise, he also relies on shop window sales and the delivery or pick-up service. “It’s going a little bit so that at least the rent comes together,” he is quoted in the city’s announcement.
Retail coordinator warns: “It’s getting to the bottom”
However, not every retailer can say that about themselves. Retail coordinator Julian Deifel is also concerned. “Even if a business is very solid, at some point the reserves will be used up. In the meantime it’s really getting down to business. ”And the promised state aid has to be waited for, if you can even apply for it. “Shop tenants have the right to have at least part of the rent reimbursed as fixed costs. Anyone who owns and pays off a monthly loan for it cannot claim that – only the interest and costs for deferrals count as fixed costs here, ”says Deifel. “The criteria for the extraordinary economic aid should be revised urgently and, above all, the funds requested must be paid out urgently”, so the appeal of the retail coordinator.
