These four games, each a unique exploration of storytelling through interactive experiences, showcase the richness and diversity of the indie scene.

1. Portugal: The Night is Gray

Whalestork Interactive, a Lisbon-based studio with a background in marketing and film, invites players into a world shrouded in mystery with "The Night is Gray." This narrative-driven point-and-click adventure blends 2D and 3D art, digital painting, and parallax effects to create a chilling atmosphere reminiscent of classic noir thrillers.

Players step into the shoes of Graham, a man emerging from the woods to find a house where a young, sheltered girl once lived. What unfolds is a chilling conspiracy that will keep players on the edge of their seats.

"The Night is Gray" is available on Steam for PC and Mac, offering a captivating experience for fans of suspenseful thrillers and horror.

2. Germany: The Apartment Berlin

From the heart of Germany comes "The Apartment Berlin," a first-person narrative investigation game by BTF games. This unique experience transports players to a historic Berlin apartment, where they’ll unravel a century’s worth of stories through different characters and time periods.

"The Apartment Berlin" isn’t just a game; it’s a journey through history.

"You play as an 18-year-old woman who runs away from her boarding school and investigates a house full of secrets after receiving a mysterious letter that could change her life forever,” the studio explains.

With a comedic noir aesthetic, "Your House" invites players to solve puzzles, engage with text, images, and videos, and ultimately determine the cost of chasing their dreams. A demo is currently available for those eager to experience this unique narrative journey, with a full release planned for Steam and mobile platforms in March 2025.

4. Lithuania: Book Smugglers

Fluxo Games transports us to 19th century Lithuania, during the Tsarist Russian Empire’s ban on the Lithuanian language, in their narrative-driven game "Book Smugglers." Players take on the role of a fearless book smuggler dedicated to preserving their culture by secretly distributing Lithuanian literature throughout the land.

“Book Smugglers” is a visual journey into a major historical struggle for cultural identity. Players must manage resources, survive, and utilize their wit in language code minigames, with choices directly impacting the unfolding narrative. This captivating adventure will be available on PC and Nintendo Switch.
