CROUS agents mobilized on Monday March 22 to demand better working conditions. In Auvergne, the Aurillac and Montluçon sites were concerned and a gathering took place in Clermont-Ferrand.
Worn agents
The CROUS is the body responsible for facilitating the living conditions of students. But whether in the residential homes or university canteens, officers feel they can no longer do their job properly.
“Agents are worn and broken, details Nadia Amara, the secretary of the CGT CROUS Auvergne. Some start at six in the morning and finish at 4 p.m., having done the work of two people! We also ask them to be ultra versatile: in the morning at the dive, in the middle of the morning prepare the starters then go to the service … And sometimes they return to the dive afterwards“.
Certain claims also concern the tenure of agents or the payment of periodic penalty payments.
But more generally, the agents have the impression of losing contact with the students. “When we meet a student who lowers his head when he is usually talking and smiling, we know there is a problem, says a union representative. But today, we call more and more on private companies for certain missions, such as fire surveillance, so the link with the students, they will not take care of it.“.
Student union representatives A F were also present to support the strikers and remind us that the living conditions of the students are closely linked to the working conditions of the agents.
