Clear decline in infection in Oslo over the last 24 hours

In the last 24 hours, 105 new cases of infection have been reported in Oslo.

Oslo Municipality reports this on its website.

There is a clear decline from Saturday when 179 new cases of infection were reported in the capital.

Before the weekend, Erna Solberg expressed concern about the development of infection among young people aged 13 to 19 years.

– We said before the weekend that in areas with a lot of infection, upper secondary schools should be set to red and then secondary schools should prepare to be put in red. First and foremost, this is a local assessment, but we will look at whether we should give a stronger recommendation, Erna Solberg told Dagbladet on Sunday.

City councilor Raymond Johansen (Labor Party) in Oslo will present new measures against the infection at a press conference today at 3 p.m.

It is eleven days since Raymond Johansen presented one sosial lockdown in the capital. Only a few days after the measures have been implemented, he will come up with new ones.

The Oslo City Council took action such as closing all gyms, cinemas, theaters, playgrounds and the like. In addition, a full liquor ban, a ban on indoor events (excluding funerals and burials) and a ban on grassroots sports for adults were introduced.

Johansen then believed that there were two explanations for why the infection has increased. One explanation is increasing infection in people in their 20s and partly also in people under the age of 20 due to failing respect for the infection control rules in these groups. The second explanation is import infection.

– It lands on planes on planes from Poland, Johansen pointed out, who pointed out that Poland now has an infection level of more than 20,000 cases per day.
