Mining company CleanSpark purchased 20,000 Antminer S19j Pro+, increasing its equipment fleet to 46,500 units.

The total purchase price was $43.6 million, but the manufacturer provided a 25% discount. Therefore, CleanSpark will pay $32.3 million for the supplied equipment – approximately $13.25 per terahash of capacity.

“Pro+ is more energy efficient and 22% faster than the popular Antminer S19j Pro. The device will ship in batches from next month,” the company wrote.

The new miners will increase the available CleanSpark hashrate by 2.44 EH/s to 9 EH/s (+37%).

The company’s 26,500 devices were also purchased at a discount last year during the bear market.

“We also intend to change our strategy when the time comes, looking towards futures contracts. We believe that trends are beginning to change, so price fixing for large orders will become part of our strategy in the coming months, ”said in a conversation with The Block CEO Zach Bradford.

In 2022, mining equipment prices have fallen by more than 80%. But at the beginning of 2023, the price of a terahesh of power stabilized, as shown in the chart below.
