Drugged with blueberry juice, she was robbed of her credit card with which several withdrawals were made. An elderly woman ended up the victim of the cleaning lady who, after deceiving her, ran away. It happened in the San Giovanni neighborhood, where the victim then reported the incident, allowing the police to arrest the domestic worker, who in the meantime had left the capital. A 37-year-old Romanian woman is in handcuffs, having already used a sleeping pill to rob another lady in the city of Naples in the past.
Drugged with cranberry juice
In particular, the 37-year-old had gained her victim’s trust by getting hired as a cleaner but, while she politely pretended to offer her a blueberry juice, in reality she drugged her with benzodiazepines to secretly steal her wallet and make withdrawals with your credit card. The woman of Romanian origins is now in prison because she is seriously suspected of the crimes of aggravated home robbery and improper use of payment instruments.
The police report
It was the agents of the VII San Giovanni district who reconstructed his movements thanks to the combination of the video surveillance images acquired from the condominium and the credit institutions where the withdrawals were made. The police investigation began in October, when the elderly woman showed up at the police offices and told the police what had happened to her the day before.
Found by her family in an unconscious state
It had all started the previous morning, when the maid had offered her a blueberry juice. An act of kindness behind which was hidden a plan hatched behind her back to strip her of her belongings. That same evening, the elderly woman was later found by some family members in her home, lying on the floor near the bed and in an unconscious state. Once she was taken to the emergency room under code red, the doctors found her to have an overdose of benzodiazesipines; only when she regained consciousness did the old woman realize the numerous withdrawals that, over the course of the day, had been made on her credit cards without her knowledge.
The empty medicine bottle
Once she returned home, she found that the bottle of a drug she had taken years earlier – and which she had not touched for three years – was empty. From there the suspicion arose that the woman had drugged her: together with her family she rushed to report the incident to the police.
Stop at Termini station
The investigations conducted by the policemen of the VII San Giovanni district made it possible to reconstruct the movements of the maid in a short time: from the first investigations carried out against her, however, it emerged that she was already wanted for a similar episode committed in Naples in 2016.
Arrested
Having requested and obtained precautionary custody in prison for her – ordered by order of the judge for preliminary investigations – the police managed to intercept her a few days ago at Termini station, where she had returned from the Neapolitan city.
