Cleaning plant in Trondheim burned to the ground

The police reported the fire at 2.17 on Thursday night.

There were large flames and a lot of black smoke on the site when the fire was at its worst. The waste facility is located in a large industrial area at Heggstadmoen in Heimdal in Trondheim.

Two hours after the police were notified of the fire, the police say that there is significantly less smoke on the spot. The fire brigade carries out controlled burning.

– The fire service is carrying out controlled burning of the building. It seems like it’s drawing to a close. There is no danger of any spread, says operations manager Håvard Høyem in Trøndelag police district to TV 2 at 4.40.
