In recent clean-up operations, the Municipality’s crews removed 65 tons of rubble that had been illegally dumped in open areas of the beach front.
The cleanings in plots and areas of the municipality, as well as in areas that require cooperation with the Region and neighboring Municipalities, are permanent. The goal is to protect the environment and improve the daily life of citizens. The Municipality of Palaio Faliro is committed to continuing this work, cleaning all the places where debris and bulky objects have been collected, in order to eliminate the foci of contamination and return the public spaces to the citizens.
The Greek Police is helping in this effort. In a major operation last week, he removed people who attempted to occupy a public space.
In a meeting of the Mayor of Palaios Faliros, Yiannis Fostiropoulos, with the heads of the competent Police departments, their continuous intervention in coordination with the Municipality was agreed upon, in order to ensure continuous policing on the beach front. For their part, the will of the leadership of the Ministry of Public Order to deal with lawlessness and violation of public space was confirmed.
The Mayor of Palaio Faliro stated that the efforts will continue uninterrupted, with the aim of protecting the environment and improving the quality of life of the residents. “The protection of public space is a priority for us, and we will continue to work hard to ensure cleanliness and order in our area,” emphasized Mr. Fosteropoulos.
