Clean sweep of victory, Toprak the new king at Mandalika circuit

Pata Yamaha rider in World Superbike or WSBK, Toprak Razgatlioglu remembering the good times while running Mandalika circuit, Lombok, last year. Toprak said the track, which is located on the beach, always gets him excited.

Last season, Toprak confirmed himself as world champion at the Mandalika Circuit. It was his first title in the WSBK championship. Toprak is also the only Turk to lift a trophy in motor racing.

That’s why he and the Mandalika Circuit seem to have an emotional connection. In this season’s race, the 26-year-old set a higher target than the previous season.

“I really focused on racing at the Mandalika circuit. I have good memories there, namely celebrating the 2021 world championship. At that time I was in second place during the race, now my goal is to win. We will see,” he said Toprak from the official Pata Yamaha website, on Friday (11/11/2022).

During the race Toprak looks impressive. He came out as the fastest and overtook his competitors. Three races were completed by finishing in first position, Superpole, Race 1 and Race 2.

“Last year there was a slight lack (during the racing) in Indonesia. I won second place during the race. Now I’m fighting for first place,” he said.

This time Toprak Razgatlioglu left good memories at Mandalika. Before winning Race 2, the PATA Yamaha rider with Brixx WorldSBK was also protagonist in Race 1 and Superpole Race. This result made Toprak the new king of the Mandalika circuit in the WSBK championship. Where the previous year, Toprak failed to win even on this 4.4 kilometer circuit because he lost to Jonathan Rea.

Prior to the 2022 WSBK Mandalika series, Toprak Razgatlioglu had also put together a similar hat-trick in the series at Donnington Park, England. In other words, he has collected two hat-tricks at the 2022 WSBK event.
