The study, published in the journal Nature Energy, showed that clean hydrogen can significantly reduce carbon emissions in heavy industry by using it as the main carrier of energy and feedstock.
The study, led by researchers from the Chinese University of Nankai and Harvard University in the United States, confirmed that it is currently difficult to convert the energy used in heavy industries and intensive transport into renewable energy.
The study said clean hydrogen can be produced from various sources, including renewable electricity and natural gas reform using carbon management technologies.
