Saint Sebastian of the kings
Claudia Ávalos, a student at Eszena Danza, the new Authorized Professional Center for Classical Ballet and Spanish Dance in San Sebastián de los Reyes, has been selected by the Royal Ballet School in London for a two-week stay next July.
Founded in 1926 by Ninette de Valois, the Royal Ballet School is the official school of the Royal Ballet and Birmingham Royal Ballet, and one of the three major classical ballet training centers in the world. Its admission is based exclusively on talent and potential, and over generations it has trained great dancers and choreographers of international renown.
At only 15 years old, Claudia has ranked ahead of hundreds of candidates who opted for this stay. Her merit is not small because she has only been dedicating herself to the world of dance for 2 years and in this period she has managed to be a finalist in 2022 and 2023 in the final of the classification in Spain of the international YAGP championship (YOUTH AMERICA GRAND PRIX ). In the last edition of it last March, in which 596 dancers participated, Claudia got a scholarship to study at the Ballet Academy, University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich.
Eszena Danza continues to add successes, positioning itself as one of the most recognized classical ballet and Spanish dance academies in Madrid with such notable cases as that of Sara Estades (15), who has obtained a stay in the National Ballet of Spain, or that of Miguel Rojo (13) who also managed to reach the final of the YAGP qualification in Spain (2023) in 2023 and won a well-deserved summer scholarship in Italy at the International Summer School Volta Mantovana.
