Ensure that the entire teacher network in Spain is trained for the skills of tomorrow. Or what is the same, who adopt new technologies as essential tools in the education of future generations. This is one of the main challenges of the project. classroom of the futurewho works for the transformation of educational spaces hand in hand with technology and ICT resources.
And it is that if teachers and educators do not have digital skills, it will be difficult for them to advance, together with the students, towards a digitally competent company. In this line, it manifested itself José María Bar, Secretary of State for Educationemphasizing that the development of technological skills and knowledge is essential “to respond to the needs of the world in which we live”.
The classroom of the future arrives in La Rioja
Jose Maria Bar It was he who inaugurated it logrono, together with the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth of the Government of La Rioja, Pedro Urunuela; yes Miguel Angel RuizHead of Brand and Innovation at Samsung Iberia, the newest of these very special classrooms.
Aula del Futuro is a project managed by National Institute of Educational Technologies and Teacher Training (INTEF) e SAMSUNG, promoter of the project, as well as other collaborators. Its rapid expansion is a clear example of the success of an idea it pursues integrating technology into educational reforms.
“It will be an educational, training, flexible, completely reconfigurable, stimulating and facilitating space”, explained Pedro Uruñuela. All with the aim of promoting methodological changes in teaching practice. That is to say “day by day,” he added. Furthermore, he defines this new classroom as the reference point for teacher training in La Rioja, but also the starting point for other actions.
The government of La Rioja recalls that the challenge is to transform it into “a space for didactic experimentation, with all the resources available to improve student learning”. Workshops, seminars, courses… where present and future technologies improve the training of young talents.
Hyper-connected learning
Just to provide all this technology and tools, Samsung is a key player. In the words of Miguel Ángel Ruiz, Head of Brand and Innovation of the company, “this is not the end. We provide these products to drive methodological change in education by using technology as a vehicle to drive this change. We supply tablets, smartphones, chromebooks and other products to ensure that every classroom has devices that allow you to be permanently hyperconnected.”
This is a methodological change. It’s so simple, yet complex at the same time. Thanks to the efforts of INTEF and Samsung -and the support of the autonomous communities- this initiative puts the focus beyond the development of students’ skills: in teaching the future, everything goes beyond the mere acquisition of content.
This is why Aula del Futuro is a flexible space that is divided into six main areas: research, explore, interact, develop, create and present. All with the aim of stimulating the teaching and learning processes. The student ceases to be a spectator, to become a protagonist. And, for his part, the teacher becomes a mentor, guide and adviser. Together they walk towards the education of tomorrow.
