Kleinanzeigen is the largest online portal in Germany where private individuals and companies can place advertisements free of charge. Cologne residents are also busy using the platform. Around four million advertisements were placed from Cologne alone between April 2023 and March 2024.

Most people are looking for furniture, bicycles or books there. But you can also sometimes come across strange advertisements on the online portal.

Cologne fortune teller promises unbelievable things on classified ads

For example, the woman from Cologne who gave herself the extravagant name Princess Kuragina in the classifieds. The name is no coincidence, because Kuragina is a fortune teller and card reader. She promises: “Within two weeks, your ex-partner will come back” – through a shamanic ritual.

She had already provided mental support to the candidates on the RTL show “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”. She was able to help nervous candidates through suggestion and the laying on of hands.

Cologne curiosity: Seal bottle for 20 euros on classifieds

A bottle in the shape of a seal is currently being sold in Cologne-Vingst. The seller wants 20 euros for the curiosity. At first glance, the bottle looks like a stuffed animal, as it is completely covered in fur. Even a seal’s head has been cleverly imitated.

According to the seller, the seal bottle is still in very good condition, even though it is a bit old.

Cologne classified ad: Two-euro coin for over 1400 euros

Meanwhile, many coin collectors are also active in classified ads. For a layperson, it may seem unusual that a two-euro coin is being sold for 1,422 euros. Claude from Lindenthal is selling this coin. The coin has a French stamp with a stylized tree in the middle and the French inscription “Égalité, Fraternité, Liberté” on the edge. The dealer does not say why the coin, which is being sold for 700 times its actual face value, is so expensive. It is probably a misprint or something similar.

But be careful: Often, supposed coin defects are just wear and tear or scratches that do not increase the value of the coin at all.

The seller from Lindenthal is also offering other two-euro coins for sale. An Italian coin with Dante on the back is available for 1,233 euros, and a German two-euro coin with the Paulskirche is available for “only” 310 euros.

Cologne liquor carousel for connoisseurs on classifieds

If you like to drink a few schnapps or have guests who enjoy drinking, the Schnapskarussell from Sülz might be perfect for you. Willi sells the unusual rack, including four bottles with a tap and six glasses, for 50 euros.

The schnapps carousel consists of two rotating discs. The four bottles are attached to one, and the schnapps glasses can be placed on the other. The entire structure was even made by a carpenter.

Cologne resident sells old street signs on classifieds

A dealer named Rolf from downtown Cologne sells various street signs. What’s special about them is that the signs are all very old and show some signs of rust. The three signs are sold for 20 euros each and are labeled “Cycle and Footpath,” “Diversion,” and “Friesenplatz.”

Maybe this is something for collectors or people who like to remember the times when car traffic in Cologne was more manageable.
