Classical music opens the new year at the Auditorium

Tradition, innovation and musical quality have combined in the Mozart room of the Zaragoza Auditorium. The obligatory New Year’s Concert has convinced the attendees, who have almost filled all the seats, that culture is the best gift on these dates.

Classical music has been the mainstay of a performance that has sustained the Viennese music of the Strauss, although it has also left room for novelty. The first, in the classic program itself: sounds of French composers and Argentine rhythms have been found in a program that, directed by Juan Luis Martínez, has escaped the conventional.

The other great attraction of the afternoon has been provided by the accompanists of the Zaragoza Symphony Orchestra. First of all, the inlcusive choir Cantatutti, a group that interprets the songs in sign language so that everyone can enjoy the music. An initiative led by Borja Morera that has been able to premiere We are your voice, an exclusive composition for the choir and made for the occasion.

The dance, carried out by the companies of Violeta Borruel from Huesca and Ramón Artigas from Zaragoza, has raised the bar by adding to its classic repertoire the performance of up to three new choreographies, also performed for the New Year’s Concert.

The icing on a magical afternoon has been put by a regular participant in the performances of the Zaragoza Symphony Orchestra. The German soprano Nina María Fischer has delighted the Zaragoza audience with her voice as she had already done on the same stage on several previous occasions. A perfect finishing touch to a concert that opens the musical year in the Aragonese capital.
