The remaster of the popular sf game trilogy Mass Effect, from Mass Effect Legendary Edition, will be in stores from 14 May. Game publisher Electronic Arts announced this on Tuesday.
Maker BioWare showed journalists from NU.nl, among others, last week for the first time images of the re-release. The Mass Effectseries was originally released between 2008 and 2012 on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
The new version will be released on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and all new game consoles. Graphically, the game has been scaled up to a 4K resolution with support for HDR and a screen refresh rate of 60 frames per second.
BioWare did not want to adjust gameplay too much. The so-called Character Creator, with which main character Commander Shepard can be designed, has been adapted. The same Character Creator can now be used for all three games and includes more hairstyles and skin tones.
The standard female version of the main character can now also be used in the earlier games. In addition, part 1 has a more modern user interface and the game has a number of other updates. Mass Effect 1 according to the developers played more difficult than the other parts.
Among other things, the steering of the vehicle Mako has been improved and the function aim assist has been added to make shooting easier. The remaster includes all additional downloadable content in addition to the three main games.
From Mass Effecttrilogy is credited as one of the best action role-playing games ever created. More than sixteen million copies of the series have been sold between 2008 and 2017.
