From July 2019 until February 2024 the price index – the normal one – increased by 15.01%. But the index for incomes up to 750 euros – based on consumption and eating behavior – increased by 19.01%. For incomes from 751 euros to 1,100 euros per month, it increased by 17.86%. I’ve saved your best for last. For incomes from 3,501 euros and above, it increased by 10.5%! In other words, the index of low incomes was burdened during the last five years almost twice as much as the index of high incomes!

And some examples concerning the individual categories. Housing burdened 31% of incomes of 750 euros. On the contrary, incomes over 3,501 euros were burdened by just 13%! Food and non-alcoholic beverages burdened incomes of 750 euros by 59%, while high incomes by 43%.

According to sources on the first day the applications exceeded 675 covering over 7.28 million euros from the total budget.
The same information states that the farmers of Thessaly come first in the applications. Over 250 applications have been submitted.
