A new class action lawsuit makes serious allegations against Apple. The focus is on the first AirPods Pro.
According to the lawsuit, crackling and other audio errors in the first AirPods Pro contradict Apple’s promise of high-quality sound. In the document, which was filed in the Northern District of California on November 1st, the plaintiffs accuse the company of making false advertising promises.
Complaints since launch in 2019
According to the lawsuit, many customers experienced audio problems immediately after the AirPods Pro launched in 2019. Apple launched a repair program for devices produced before October 2020, but plaintiffs claim the problem affects all first-generation devices.
In addition, Apple allegedly did not adequately inform customers about the repair program. In addition to damages, the plaintiffs are demanding repairs or replacement of affected devices.
Apple is also accused of violating various consumer protection laws in California, Ohio, Texas and Pennsylvania. Whether that was the case will be determined in the next few months.
