Volendam fans had an argument with fans of the opposing team immediately after the football match against FC Utrecht. Clashes took place on the Dijk and as a result several cafes closed their doors. Windows were smashed and bar stools and bicycles flew through the air. A police helicopter has been deployed. Police say they haven’t arrested anyone.
It became 0-4 for FC Utrecht. After the end of the football match between FC Volendam and Utrecht things got out of hand on the Dijk around 20:00 tonight. In addition to a police helicopter, several police cars were deployed to keep tabs on the fans, a witness from the village said.
