Clash of Residents of Pekanbaru with Transportation Agency Ends a Wall Closing the Road

Monitoring detikcom, Thursday (15/4/2021), motorists who want to pass on the road must make a U-turn. The road is usually passed by vehicles that will pass from Jl Kartama to the Marpoyan-Pasir Putih intersection.

“It’s been a week on the wall, we residents here can no longer pass. Even though this is a community road, our road together,” said a resident, Yasin.

The residents admitted that they were disappointed with the action of the land owner. According to residents, the road closure was carried out unilaterally.

“There was no deliberation, it was immediately closed using a high wall. This closure was after a disturbance between the land owner and the Transportation Agency,” said another resident, Endang.

The head of the local RW, Rahmat, revealed the trigger for the land owner to build a wall at that location. He said the road closure was carried out by a resident named Sayuti, who claimed that the road had entered as land bought by his wife.

“It has been 12 years since this road became accessible to the locals. Today we see, the road is closed by a wall, he said this road belongs to him (Sayuti),” said Rahmat.

Rahmat also said that he had communicated with Sayuti. However, Sayuti is said to have refused to comply with the suggestion that the wall was not built in the middle of the road.

“I know Sayuti very well. He said there was still a family relationship and I said yes there was a family relationship. But about closing the road I said no, it remains closed,” said Rahmat.
