In today’s government audit against KBS, the ruling party’s claim that KBS is a labor-run broadcasting and biased broadcasting clashed with the opposition party’s claim that the replacement of KBS’ management and separate collection of license fees were an attempt to take over broadcasting.
President Yoon Seok-yeol approved a request for a personnel hearing for KBS president candidate Park Min.

The ruling and opposition parties clashed from the start of the National Assembly over the hand signs posted on the seats.
The public is angry at the Yoon Seok-yeol regime’s takeover of broadcasting and the Confederation of Trade Unions’ condemnation of its control over broadcasting.
At the resumed meeting, a debate arose over whether the KBS program was biased.

″KBS’s ‘Choi Management’s Strongest Current Affairs’ had a total of 125 appearances on panels from the ruling and opposition parties, with 35 panels featuring the ruling party’s stance and 90 appearances by the opposition party criticizing the government.″
As ruling party members continued to point out, KBS responded that it was not true.
[김덕재/KBS 부사장]
″Not really. Rather, if we are to be precise, there are far more people related to the ruling party than the number of participants… ″
The ruling party in particular criticized KBS with one voice for reporting on the recording of Kim Man-bae without verification ahead of the presidential election.
[김병욱/국민의힘 의원]
″Is KBS a cheerleader for pseudo-YouTube broadcasts? Is the public broadcaster KBS a subsidiary of the fraudulent broadcaster Newstapa?″
[김영식/국민의힘 의원]
″The terrestrial broadcaster was severely punished with an unprecedented fine for broadcasting the transcript report without verification and confirmation.″
[김덕재/KBS 부사장]
″According to principle, we decided that it should be reported for the people’s right to know. This decision by the review committee is a bit excessive compared to the report we made… ″
On the other hand, the opposition party defined the KBS management replacement and license fee separate collection plan as an attempt to take over broadcasting.
[박찬대/더불어민주당 의원]
″The unreasonable replacement of KBS management and the separate collection of license fees have been reminiscent of a military operation since July.″
Objections were also raised about the appointment process for KBS president candidate Park Min, whose personnel hearing request was approved by President Yoon Seok-yeol today.
[허숙정/더불어민주당 의원]
″There was a rumor about Candidate Park Min’s nomination, but wasn’t it hurriedly dealt with in one week in order to produce results?″
[김덕재/KBS 부사장]
″It seems like it was rushed.″
The Democratic Party criticized the President for starting the process of appointing KBS president candidate Park Min.
“They are trying to degrade public broadcasting into the ‘president’s broadcast,’” he said, warning, “If public broadcasting is used as the trumpet of the regime, the number of canings that will be beaten by the people will only increase.”
