Athlete, who was national record holder of the 3,000 meters hurdles, accused steroids in a control
The Portuguese Olympic athlete Clarisse Cruz, 44, was suspended for four years for doping, only being able to compete again on October 14, 2025, announced this Wednesday the Portuguese Athletics Federation (FPA).
In a statement, the organization reports on the suspension of the athlete, who attended the 3,000 hurdles event at the Olympic Games Beijing2008 (34th) and London 2012 (11th), after having accused steroids in an anti-doping control.
The suspension of Clarisse Cruz, a GRECAS athlete who was the national record holder in the 3,000 meters hurdles, entered into force on October 15, 2021 and ends on October 14, 2025.
The FPA also revealed the disciplinary decision on the process of long distance runner Nuno Costa, which dictated the suspension for four years, starting on August 12, 2022 and ending on August 11, 2026, for resorting to cocaine.
