As announced on Friday, the plant and flower shops are allowed to remain open, unlike the first lockdown, as well as the do-it-yourself shops that mainly sell tools and building materials. This is evident from the provisional list that Minister David Clarinval has already released.

Minister of Self-employed, Self-Employed, SMEs David Clarinval (MR) published a list on Facebook on Saturday of a list of shops that may remain open during the stricter lockdown. The list includes the food shops (including night shops), the pet food shops, the pharmacists, the shops selling emergency medical devices, the gas stations and fuel suppliers and the newsagents.
What is new is that bookshops can also remain open. Telecom stores are allowed to stay open by appointment, provided they don’t just sell accessories. Hardware stores that mainly sell tools and building materials are also on the list, as are garden centers, nurseries, florists and plant shops.
Retailers selling fabrics and sewing equipment may also remain open and wholesalers for professionals are also on the list, but only to provide services to those professionals. Garages may only offer breakdown services and repairs, bicycle shops may only provide maintenance and repairs. And laundries, independent service providers and syndics may also continue to operate.
Unfair competition
The other stores that are not on the list are still allowed to deliver products at home or have products that have been reserved picked up at the door of the store. To avoid unfair competition, supermarkets must empty the shelves of products sold by those stores.
‘I am aware of the trials faced by self-employed people who have to stop their activities. I am committed to supporting them, I will not drop any sector, ”Clarinval said. The list will become final within a few hours, after the publication of the ministerial decree in the Official Gazette, the minister added.
