Director for Supervision of Financial Services Authority (OJK) Financing Institutions Yustianus Dapot in a press conference at Polda Metro Jaya, Thursday (23/2/2023), said, in this case, the finance company or the company where Clara’s BPKB car was mortgaged must be held responsible.
“In billing, if something like this happens, the one responsible must still be the financing company,” said Yustianus.
Yustinus explained that various sanctions would be given to the company. One of them is prohibited from entering into cooperation agreements with collection service companies or debt collector.
“Meanwhile, these companies are not allowed to cooperate with external collection companies. Until they make improvements regarding the SOP, we will examine it. Only then will we free them up to cooperate,” he said.
In addition, asked the company to evaluate the aftermath of the case. OJK also asked them to report the case in detail in order to make it easier for OJK to participate in researching existing cases.
Debt Collector Must Bring Fiduciary Certificate
In fact, continued Yustianus, the OJK could ask the company to replace the board of directors as an evaluation of the actions taken by the members debt collector the.
