Claire Byrne has officially confirmed that she will not be taking over from Ryan Tubridy as the new host of the Late Late Show. Despite being tipped as the favourite for the role, Byrne cited family reasons and the demands of her weekday programme on RTÉ Radio One as the reasons for her decision. Nevertheless, she expressed her gratitude for being considered for such a prestigious role. Miriam O’Callaghan also withdrew her name from the running, leaving Drivetime’s Sarah McInterney, Brendan O’Connor and Patrick Kielty as front-runners for the coveted position.
