The Federal Judiciary Council (CJF) agreed by majority last night to a budget project similar to the one exercised during this year, which was 69 thousand 358 million 500 thousand pesos, plus the estimated inflation that is estimated at 3.6 percent by the Bank of Mexico.
The agreement of the plenary session of the CJF, indicated high-level officials of the Judiciary, was to send the approved project immediately to the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) so that, in accordance with its powers in the highest court of the country, prepare the master document with which the Judicial Branch will present its budget project, which will include what is accepted by the SCJN and the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF).
After three sessions in which various budget proposals were analyzed, around five, the sources consulted indicated, it was finally decided to endorse a project that in general terms is around 69 thousand 608 million 240 thousand pesos.
Officially, the CJF has not announced the approval of the economic project that it will request for 2025, nor details of the discussions and votes of the councilors.
The sources interviewed said that in yesterday’s session, which began at 5 p.m. and concluded after 8 p.m., other resolutions of administrative issues were addressed.
According to the Synthesis of the relevant information on administrative matters of the CJF
published last August, during 2024 the Judiciary received an original budget of 68 thousand 917 million 300 thousand pesos and obtained an increase for 25 million 313 thousand 300 pesos and reported a reduction of 24 million 872 thousand 100 pesos, to give a total of 69 thousand 358 million 500 thousand pesos.
The CJF allocates to the sector personal services
85.4 percent of its 2024 budget, that is, to cover salaries, wages, allowances, benefits, fees, social security expenses and other work obligations.
On October 24, the Plenary Session of the SCJN approved by majority the draft budget for the following year, which will be sent to the Federal Executive no later than next November 5 so that it can be integrated into the draft Expenditure Budget of the Federation for fiscal year 2025.
