The CJEU specifies the conditions for exercising the powers of national supervisory authorities for cross-border data processing in application of the General Data Protection Regulation.
In a judgment of June 15, 2021 (case C-645/19), the Court of Justice of the European Union clarified the powers of national supervisory authorities within the framework of the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation 2016/679 of April 27, 2016 – RGPD) .It considers that this regulation authorizes, under certain conditions, a supervisory authority of a member state to exercise its power to bring any alleged violation of the GDPR before a court of that state and to take legal action. with regard to cross-border data processing, although it is not the lead authority (…)
