The national director of the Civil Registry and Identification Service, Jorge Álvarez, called on the population to avoid crowds at the office on Manuel Rodríguez street corner Huérfanos, which has brought together many people to request an identity card and Unique Password.
The authority was deployed in the enclosure together with a territorial team to inform people in the lines about the attentions that are carried out in person, those scheduled through the website, those that arrive spontaneously for the renewal of documents, certificates and Key Only.
To do this, it was tested to advance the opening hours from 07:00 hours, which will be evaluated day by day, depending on user demand, in addition to the special attention that is being carried out on weekends.
“In the first place I want to apologize to our users, it is not the way we want to serve them with crowds, but we have had a large number of people who have come mainly for the Unique Key,” Álvarez started commenting.
Next, he stressed to those who went to the Civil Registry offices that a Unique Code is not required “neither for 10% of the AFP, nor for the middle class bonus, nor for the virtual police station.”
“Many people come for that and it is not necessary,” he remarked.
Álvarez remarked that the Huérfanos branch is reinforced, complying with sanitary standards.
“In the zócalo and on the second floor we put more jobs, so I think that will allow us to attend more quickly. For us it is very important that our users know that, due to health regulations, the offices are not suitable for them to enter and that is why they have to wait outside. I ask you for peace of mind, I ask you for patience, we hope to normalize this immense flow of people soon, ”he said.
The Civil Registry and Identification Service from day one of confinement has maintained a system of face-to-face care shifts throughout the country. Without forgetting that there are non-face-to-face channels through the website and the “Civildigital App” that allows obtaining certificates; and the self-service totems that also allow you to obtain the activation code for the Unique Key.
