“Zelensky signed the law” On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Concerning Ensuring the Right of Citizens to Access State Registration of Civil Status Acts in Connection with the Consolidation of Territorial Communities, “No. 1427-IX,” the message says.
It is noted that the law will make it easier for Ukrainians to receive administrative services – state registration of birth, marriage, death – in the context of the consolidation of territorial communities.
The Office of the Head of State noted that the need to adopt this document is due to the consolidation in Ukrainian legislation of a different scope of powers in the field of state registration of acts of civil status between different territorial communities.
In particular, the executive bodies of village, settlement, city councils carry out state registration of birth, marriage, and death. And the cities of regional significance, including the united and enlarged territorial communities formed on their basis by voluntary annexation, and on the basis of the decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers on the approval of the territories of tercommunities, do not have powers in this area.
“The law, which was signed by the president, empowers the executive bodies of all city councils and the corresponding departments of city justice departments of all cities with the powers of state registration of acts of civil status,” the statement says.
The entry into force of this law eliminates the negative consequences of the consolidation of territorial communities. They will receive the same powers in the field of state registration of acts of civil status and will be able to meet the important needs of their residents, including maintaining the availability of services and their rapid provision.
