Civil efforts underway to overturn FIFA’s decision on registration ban: Al-Ahly fights back

Civil efforts to nullify FIFA’s decision to stop the “two registration periods”

Informed sources revealed to Asharq Al-Awsat that serious efforts are being made by the management of Al-Ahly club, official sports bodies and major international legal offices in order to cancel the penalties imposed by the Dispute Resolution Chamber of the International Federation of Football Associations regarding preventing him from registering, which is the decision issued by FIFA and temporarily suspended by The International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which made Al-Ahly register its players in the current summer transfer market.

And because Al-Ahly succeeded in obtaining the temporary suspension of the registration ban and invested in that by registering a group of Saudi and foreign players in the past two months, officials in Al-Ahly Club, as well as active sports legal bodies inside and outside the Kingdom, are aware of the reasons for the ban in order to cancel the decision, amid the difficulties they face in order to succeed and achieve their goal.

Al-Ahly was punished by the decision of the Dispute Settlement Chamber of the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) in favor of the player Louis Grabban, who decided to pay a total amount of one million and two hundred thousand US dollars, and a sports penalty by stopping the club from registering for two regular periods.

Despite the serious official endeavor to write a legal petition to the International Court of Arbitration for Sports to overturn the decision, Al-Ahly Club is working to sign the largest number of Saudi stars in the coming period, in order to ensure that the bench is filled with suitable and distinguished players sufficient for a full year, in light of the fact that the prevention of registration in the event of return to application will continue. for the next two periods.

In addition, private sources told Asharq Al-Awsat that the player, Mukhtar Ali, received the green light for his transfer from the officials of Al-Nasr Club, at the desire of the player.

Sources in the Al-Ahly Club indicated that the officials inquired about the player Mukhtar Ali and the idea of his joining the club, and after they learned that the player welcomed the opportunity to represent the team, they discussed the technical staff led by German Matthias Yasle regarding the player, and the coach expressed a greater desire to obtain the services of the player Ali Al-Hassan or the player Faisal Al-Ghamdi. From the agreement club.

Undoubtedly, the reaction of the German coach, Matthias Yaisle, made Al-Ahly club wait and not make an official offer to the player or his club during the last period, and officials are still awaiting the coach’s final decision regarding Mukhtar Ali.

On the other hand, clubs competing in the Saudi League have expressed interest in the player Mukhtar Ali and have the desire to formally gain his services, after Al-Nasr allowed him to leave the team, and among those clubs are Al-Taawon, Al-Fateh and Al-Ta’i clubs, where the talks took a serious nature and no official offers were made until the moment. .

It is expected that the Al-Ahly club’s movements will become more clear in the midfielder’s file within hours, after the past hours witnessed movements from Al-Ittihad club in obtaining the services of Al-Ettifaq club player Faisal Al-Ghamdi, and Al-Nasr club refused to loan Ali Al-Hassan to Al-Ahly club.

It remains to be noted that the Al-Ahly club was able to change its skin in the current transfer market, by the management’s decision to dismiss 8 foreign players, most notably Omar Al-Soma and the Algerian Riad Boudebouz.

Al-Ahly club began to strengthen its team before the end of last season, when it signed a contract with Al-Taawun duo Samihan Al-Nabit and Fahd Al-Rashidi, to be joined later by Abdullah Atif from Al-Hilal.

Al-Ahly club concluded its first foreign deals by contracting with English club Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, to join him with Brazilian striker Roberto Firmino, and then Algerian Riyad Mahrez.

Al-Ahly strengthened its attacking third with Newcastle United star Saint-Maximin, to then support the midfield spot with English Premier League duo Frank Kessé and Spanish talent Gabri Vega. He also included the defense duo from the Italian League, where Al-Ahly contracted with the Brazilian Ibanez and the Turkish Merih Demiral.

Mukhtar Ali became a target from Al-Ahly (Al-Nasr Club)

The reforms of the Al-Ahly club did not stop in strengthening its ranks with these transfers only, but rather supported its team with the young full-back, Bassam Al-Huraiji, coming from Al-Batin Club, and the surprise was brought about by Al-Ahly club, after its great loss from Al-Fateh club, as it decided to contract with the Saudi national team striker Firas Al-Buraikan, by paying the condition. The penalty for the player is approximately 35 million Saudi riyals.

In addition to all these moves, Al-Ahly Club completed the signing procedures with Al-Taawun Club and its player, Saad Al-Obeid, on the latter’s transfer to Al-Ahly Club for a period of 3 seasons.

Al-Ahly Club is still continuing its movements in the last hours of the summer transfer market, as it submitted its official offer to Al-Nasr Club in order to obtain the services of the duo Ali Al-Hassan and Abdul-Ilah Al-Omari, but all of them were rejected, so Al-Ahly Club turned to Al-Okhdood Club in a desire to obtain the services of a player. The midfield was the birthday, but the groove club had no choice but to refuse in the current period.

Al-Ahly club is racing against time before the transfer market closes at the end of the day, Thursday, to support the team, as it submitted its offer to Al-Ettifaq Club to include Faisal Al-Ghamdi, including a sum of money in addition to the player Hassan Al-Ali, but Al-Ettifaq rejected the offer, stipulating that he pay about 57.5 million riyals.

Al-Ahly rejects the idea of giving up its Saudi players because it needs them on a difficult path in the event that it cannot cancel the registration ban imposed on it by the CAS, and therefore it is accelerating the pace in order to strengthen its ranks and strengthen the positions that the team needs before closing the Mercato tonight.
