Civic activism, ours is anything but an apathetic country and thus the first philanthropic fund was born

MILANO – There are many activists, movements and organizations Third sector – small or large – who today are fighting in our country to build a more equitable and inclusive society, to eliminate inequalities and courageously propose ideas and solutions for the systemic crises of our time. However, they still find little space and the type of support – financial and operational – available to them does not enable them to fully fulfill their mission and achieve profound and permanent social change.

The first Italian philanthropic fund. To respond to this situation was born Project Systemwhich lands today online with a new sitethe first Italian philanthropic fund (DAF – Donors Advised Fund) that supports, in a flexible way, civic activism for systemic change. Taking inspiration from the various consolidated experiences at an international level, Project System has a dual objective: on the one hand, it is committed to offering flexible financial and operational support to activists, informal groups, nonviolent organizations committed to addressing the root causes of the problems that afflict our society. It wants to be a strategic partner alongside these realities, making wide-ranging support available, including skills, possibilities for collaboration, networks of experts but also dedicated economic resources that they need and which they struggle to receive.

A platform that catalyzes the efforts of many. On the other hand, Project System is a collaborative philanthropic fund, an ally for all those foundations, philanthropic bodies, entities and individuals who believe and want to invest in the transformative potential of civic activism in our country. It is a platform capable of catalyzing the efforts of individuals for a greater and more effective collective impact.

How the initiative was born. It arises from the meeting of two realities: on the one hand, The Good Lobby Italia, non-profit organization committed to making the society we live in more democratic, united and equitable by supporting civil society in influencing public policies, with the aim of creating the conditions to support civic activism in a more structured and wide-ranging way in our country. On the other, Guglielmo Notarbartolo with Anya Capital, and the strategic vision of stimulating structural changes that start from the bottom.

“Italy is anything but an apathetic country” The vitality of its activism, of the many social and civic movements, of the new associative networks is proof that more and more people do not want to give up in the face of the status quo. And they also do so by proposing ideas, projects, initiatives that seek to respond to the crises (political, social, economic) of our time. It is a vitality that must not be dissipated, but if anything encouraged, supported, networked. Because the stronger the civic action, the greater the antibodies to the degeneration of our liberal-democratic regimes” comments Federico Anghelé, Director of The Good Lobby

An avant-garde position. “Civic activism is the vanguard of our society, a crucial driver of development for building and strengthening a fair and healthy future for all. Project System aims to represent a key step to support nonviolent organizations, movements and activists in Italy, helping to unleash the transformative potential of civic activism.” comments Guglielmo Notarbartolo, founder of Anya Capital. To date Project System has supported five organizations that align with the fund’s strategy and share its values with flexible micro-financing dedicated to organizations. here’s the list of supported organizations.
