City attacks finally paid off in the 30th minute. Raheem Sterling, who moves on the right side of the West Brom penalty box, then releases a bait which Ilkay Guendogan completes perfectly.
West Brom tried to retaliate. Conor Gallagher fired a shot from outside the penalty box, but it was wide of the City goal.
Joao Cancelo also tried to open a shot from outside the penalty box. Sam Johnstone can still anticipate the ball well.
Two minutes before halftime, West Brom scored a reply. Starting from City’s failure to block West Brom’s free kick ball, Semi Ajayi then fired a shot from inside the penalty box. Ajayi’s shot hit Ruben Dias and swerved. Ederson was fooled and could not anticipate the ball.
