Man City and Liverpool still competing in the title race Premier League. With six matches remaining, the two teams are only one point adrift.
Liverpool had evicted City from the top Premier League standings after a 4-0 win over Manchester United, Wednesday (20/4/2022) early morning WIB. The Reds collected 76 points from 32 matches.
City responded by beating Brighton & Hove Albion at the Etihad Stadium, Thursday (21/4/2022) early morning WIB, with a score of 3-0. City reclaim the throne standings with 77 points.
The rivalry between City and Liverpool is predicted to continue until the end of the season. Pep Guardiola hopes City can sweep away victory in the remaining six matches.
“For the Premier League, we are not stupid. If we lose just two points, Liverpool will be champions,” Guardiola told BBC MOTD.
“If we wipe out the win, we will be champions. The players know that. We know tough games await us and we have to try to perform like today and sweep away the victory.”
“If we do that, we will celebrate. If not, we will congratulate Liverpool,” said Guardiola.
Manchester City next will host Watford on Saturday (23/4/2022) evening WIB. Meanwhile, Liverpool will face Everton at Anfield on Sunday (4/24/2022).
