From September 22, vaccination points will open in Antwerp for residents who have not yet had their first shot with a corona vaccine. The city reports that. The vaccination moments for the most vulnerable neighborhoods will also be continued.
On September 30, the vaccination village VacCovid on Spoor Oost will close. Until that day, people over 18 who have not yet been vaccinated can go there for a single vaccination with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Second and third doses are also administered. However, the period is too short to start vaccination schedules with two doses. That is why local vaccination points will open from next week. Citizens will be able to go there for a first and then second and third vaccination.
On Wednesday 22 September, the first vaccination point will open in the ZNA Sint-Erasmus hospital on Luitenant Lippenslaan in Borgerhout. Residents of Antwerp, Borsbeek, Wommelgem, Stabroek or Schoten can come here every Wednesday afternoon for their first vaccination.
On Thursday September 30, a second vaccination point will open in the ZNA Stuivenberg hospital in the Lange Beeldekensstraat in Antwerp. The same target group can go there every Thursday evening for vaccination.
The open vaccination moments on the Kiel, Luchtbal and Linkeroever are also continuing. There, everyone gets the chance to come by for a vaccine without an appointment. “The closure of VacCovid is not the end of the Antwerp vaccination story,” says health alderman Els van Doesburg (N-VA). ‘We will continue to offer a vaccine to people who have waited or did not get the chance. Hence a warm appeal for those considering it: don’t miss the opportunity to protect yourself and the people around you.’
