Many languages - narration of good practices, conferences, debates, shows, exhibitions, films – for a novelty in the festival panorama: an event entirely dedicated to urban regeneration. The first edition of “City on stage”the urban regeneration festival, will be held in Rome from 13 to 17 December. The venues will be the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone, the MAXXI and the Casa del Cinema. On the program – with free entry – institutions, architects, landscape architects, scientists, entrepreneurs, sector and finance operators and protagonists of the national and international scene such as Joao Nunes (PROAP), James Corner (FIELDOPERATIONS), Josep Bohigas, Manuel Gausa, Carles Llop, Patrizia Di Monte (GRAVALOSDIMONTE), And Budik (TOPOTEK1), GGiuseppe Scaglione e Jeannette Sordi.
The common thread of the exhibition: the story of excellent initiatives, projects completed or underway that regenerate places, develop new urban models and use culture as a key element of a necessary transformation.
Scrolling through the program we find the inauguration of the event on December 13th at 10.30 am in the Auditorium with the mayor of Rome Roberto Gualtieri and the minister Matteo Salvini. Also on the 13th, at Maxxi, the first meeting of a mini cycle organized by the museum Foundation and the Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Foundation, section of the “The invisible city” program will be held. The event is entitled “The solitude of algorithms” or cities? and the digital challenge. “The cities? there are fewer and fewer squares and more and more platforms: impersonal places where the rhythm is marked by algorithmic efficiency and people are increasingly social on the web and increasingly alone on the streets” we read in his description. Introducing Alessandro Giuli, president of the MAXXI Foundation, and Massimiliano Tarantino, director of the Feltrinelli Foundation. With Lorenza Baroncelli, Sergio Belardinelli, Priscilla De Pace and Mara Ferrerimoderated by Polish Rose. The other events of these two Foundations will talk about ecology and inclusion.
A conference is scheduled for December 14th from 10am in the Auditorium. With, among others, the minister Gennaro Sangiulianothe minister Andrea Abodi e Daniele Pitte?ri, CEO of the Musica per Roma Foundation. Among the proposals of December 15th we highlight the presentation of the Parco della Musica Masterplan, created by Renzo Piano Building Workshop, in the Auditorium at 11. Also on the 15th at 9pm in the Auditorium there will be the show “Rock Lessons” with Ernesto Assante, Gino Castaldo and the Auditorium Band on New York, Chicago and San Francisco. “Every city is? a different America, made up of different musics that are part of the ‘cityscape’, are closely linked to the ‘panorama’, are an integral part of the architecture of the metropolis” as they will tell us Assante e Castaldo.
From 13 to 16 December the Auditorium will also host exhibitions with the works, among the exhibition itineraries, of students from the capital on how to regenerate their urban habitat. A video review is also scheduled at MAXXI from 15 to 17 December: from the documentary on the Copenhagen case, defined today as “a bubble accessible only to the rich”, to the story of the Vele di Scampia, in Naples.
