City Officials and Police Prepared for Protests Following Charges Against Donald Trump

Mayor Adams and Police Department officials say the city is prepared for protests in response to the filing of charges against Donald Trump.

One is known to be planned for today, organized by Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene and the Young Republicans of New York.

Participants will meet at Collect Pond Park, located across from the Manhattan Criminal Court.

The organizers have indicated that it will be a peaceful protest, but the police are preparing for all possible scenarios.

In an interview for the Inside City Hall program, from our sister network NY1, the former commissioner of the police department, Bill Bratton, assured that the city has the resources to respond to a situation of this type.

He added that no other city has as many police officers as New York.

In addition to the increased police presence, city officials have warned of street closures and have asked New Yorkers to use public transportation.
