City Offers COVID-19 Update for June 14, 2021 | Board of Health

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Department of Public Health reported today that 25,324 additional doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Philadelphia since the last report on Thursday, June 10, 2021. This brings the total number of Philadelphia residents fully vaccinated. to at least 668,710, and the number of Philadelphia residents with at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to 857,383. Currently, 53.8% of Philadelphia adults are fully vaccinated, and 69% of Philadelphia adults have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Department of Public Health reports that 87 COVID-19 patients are currently being treated in Philadelphia hospitals, with a total of 13 on respirators.

In the past two weeks, one percent of COVID-19 tests have come back positive. So far, during the pandemic, 144,645 Philadelphia residents have been diagnosed with COVID-19, and 3,705 have succumbed to the virus. Philadelphia is registering an average of 43 new COVID-19 cases per day in the past two weeks.

The Philadelphia Phillies give away 1,000 tickets to the Philadelphia vaccination clinics: To continue to encourage Philadelphians to get vaccinated against COVID-19, the Phillies have partnered with the Health Department to distribute 500 two-ticket packs to fans who get vaccinated at select Health Department clinics. The first 500 people to get vaccinated with a first or second dose of any COVID vaccine at these clinics will receive two tickets to an upcoming Phillies game:

  • Tuesday June 15, 8 am – 7 pm, Pennsylvania Convention Center, 12th and Arch Streets, Philadelphia, PA 19107 – Only for the second dose.
  • Wednesday June 16, 10 am – 4 pm, Lonnie Young Recreation Center, 1100 E. Chelten Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19138.
  • Friday June 18, 10 am – 4 pm, University of the Sciences, ARC Sports and Recreation Center, 730 S 43rd St, Philadelphia, PA 19104.
  • Saturday June 19, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Esperanza, 4261 N. 5th St., Filadelfia, PA 19140.

The Pennsylvania Convention Center clinic is a second dose clinic for anyone who has only received one dose of the Pfizer vaccine. People who come to be vaccinated will be considered fully vaccinated on Tuesday, June 29. This is the last Second dose clinic planned for those who have only received one dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

Press who are interested in obtaining shots at the Convention Center on Tuesday, June 15, should send an email to [email protected] before the end of the day today, Monday June 14, to reserve a time in which a press officer can accompany you.

Businesses can require customers to wear a face mask: On Friday, June 11, the Health Department began allowing fully vaccinated people to enter most places without a mask. Unvaccinated people are still required to wear a mask in closed spaces, according to the state mandate. Last week’s announcement specified that businesses could continue to require the use of masks, regardless of the status of the vaccine. Today, the Health Department has posted a sign that businesses can download and place in their window announcing that they will continue to require masks. The sign can be found on the COVID advisories web page.
