City of Wedel: Postponed to autumn: Bahnhofstrasse southern part closed

The construction work will be postponed to the fall holidays and will take place from October 21, 2024 to November 1, 2024.

Due to pipe work (house connection) by the Wedel municipal drainage system for the planned new building on Bahnhofstrasse (formerly Stadtsparkasse), Bahnhofstrasse, in the section between Spitzerdorfstrasse and Bei der Doppeleiche, must be completely closed to through traffic. Since this is an approved construction project, the developer has a legal right to approval for the closure for the connection work.

Expected overview of traffic routing:

  • On foot/by bike: People travelling on foot or by bicycle can still reach Doppeleiche via the southern part of Bahnhofstrasse. Cyclists must move to the sidewalk in the construction area and push their bicycles.
  • Motor vehicles: Motorists using Bahnhofstrasse must choose the western or eastern alternative route from Spitzerdorfstrasse at the latest.
  • Exceptions for residents: Access to the construction site will remain free for residents and the one-way street regulation will be lifted. Residents who drive north of the construction site, for example to their underground car park, can drive back towards Spitzerdorfstrasse, contrary to the usual one-way street regulation.
  • Bus: Bus line 189 will be diverted during this period. Replacement stops will be set up on Am Lohhof street at number 33 and in Rollberg at numbers 2-4.

If you have any questions about this measure, please contact the Wedel municipal drainage department on 04103/180090.
