Many roads lead to Rome. In order for travelers to get to Rome at the moment, they need the Green Pass. The Green Pass is an EU-compliant certificate that provides information on the recovery, vaccination or test status (“3-G rule”) of travelers.
The cell phone signature
The PDF document can be clicked on, for example gesundheit.gv.at request. In order to receive the document, you have to register on the platform using a citizen card or mobile phone signature – you can find instructions on how to do this here. Citizens can use the mobile phone signature to process some official channels electronically. It acts as a kind of digital signature and is also equivalent to a handwritten signature.
Walk-in in the Vienna City Hall
Not only do many roads lead to Rome, but also various roads lead to the mobile phone signature. The electronic signature can be activated in Vienna in municipal district offices, tax offices, A1 shops or branches of the ÖGK. It can be activated online via FinanzOnline or via the Post.at Account possible.
In order to cushion the expected onslaught on the district offices, Viennese can now apply for the mobile phone signature in the town hall. For this purpose, the City of Vienna set up a walk-in service point in the Volkshalle of the town hall. 30 employees of the Vienna City Service are available here daily from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for cell phone signatures. The service should stay at least until autumn. Pre-registration is not necessary. Due to the COVID-19 situation, it is still mandatory to wear an FFP2 in all offices, service facilities and outsourced units of the City of Vienna.
If the rush is bigger than expected, the walk-in could also offer extra Saturdays – similar to the district offices.
Green passport with no cell phone signature
With its homecare platform, the City of Vienna enables access to the Green Pass without a mobile phone signature or citizen card. The platforms can be used by anyone who has already been tested on a test street. The 12-digit PIN sent by SMS enables access to the system. Vaccinated and recovered persons receive an automatic notification via SMS.
