The Councilor for Culture Enrique Etayo, has wished “the best of successes” to the Ciudad de Talavera National Theater Festival, Marisa Esteban in Memoriam, which this year reaches its tenth edition.
This was stated at the press conference together with the president of the Always Elvis Bene Tapetado Cultural Musician Association to publicize the activities and works that participate in this festival.
Etayo has highlighted that Always Elvis “makes the summer very special” due to the activities it promotes such as the International Jazz Festival or this theater festival that have the support of the City Council. Thus he has confirmed that the Consistory will continue to collaborate with these cultural events that this year are reaping a large influx of public.
“We have started from scratch and in record time we have managed to carry out the Jazz Festival and many more activities,” said the mayor, who thanked the impeccable work carried out by the staff of the Local Autonomous Organization for Culture.
For his part, Tapetado pointed out that this festival sought to find new audiences or accommodate both emerging and avant-garde companies, staging works with social and committed messages, “and I think that in ten years we have achieved it.”
The festival is a tribute to the late Marisa Esteban, “a recognized actress, with enormous talent, who gave a lot of love,” said Tapetado, who recalled that this festival is also a national contest, where prizes are awarded to the best work and to the best direction, although there is also a special prize from the public.
