City of Nantes Organizes Second ‘Day Without a Car’ in Malakoff District

Sunday September 18, 2022, the city ​​of Nantes had launched the first edition of a “day without a car» in the Cathédrale-Joffre district. The operation is renewed this Sunday, September 17, 2023 in the Malakoff district.

What is the scope concerned?

From 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., the Eric Tabarly bridge, the banks of the Loire, the Pablo Picasso mall and the boulevard de Berlin will be exceptionally closed to traffic (cars and buses). There England Street will be closed from 5 a.m.

This is the second year that the city of Nantes has organized a “car-free day” (©Nantes Métropole)

“Everyone is free to occupy public space to play, stroll, exchange, rest, without fear of obstructing traffic. This event allows us to reclaim public space,” explains Nantes Métropole

The little train will provide a free shuttle all day in the neighborhood (approximately every 20 minutes).
